Do you need to get into the “spirit” for Halloween? You can do so by attending the Friday, October 27th program “Halloween and the Finger Lakes” presented by Seneca County Historian Walter Gable at the Wesleyan Chapel 136 Fall Street Seneca Falls.
Mr.Gable will share ghost stories associated with the Seneca Falls Historical Society mansion as well as the Sea Serpent of Seneca Lake and allegations of ghosts at other places in the Finger Lakes such as Belhurst Castle and Wells College. You can also learn about Spook Hill and why Edward Rulloff’s brain is part of the Wilder Brain Collection at Cornell University. Gable will also share the historical origins of Halloween and how it has become one of the major holidays celebrated in the United States.
